Terms & liability waiver.
Clear, plain-English terms covering your vehicle, our insurance, damage claims and coating warranties.
PassioNate Detailing Ltd · 5/26 Porana Road, Wairau Valley, Auckland 0627 · Last updated 2026
We are fully insured for vehicles in our care and every job starts with a photographed condition report. If something goes wrong because of us, we own it and fix it — this document simply sets out how that works.
1. Agreement & Acceptance
These terms apply to all detailing, paint correction, restoration and coating services carried out by PassioNate Detailing Ltd ("PND", "we", "us") at 5/26 Porana Road, Wairau Valley, Auckland 0627, or at any agreed location.
By booking, delivering a vehicle to us, or authorising work in person, by phone, email or web form, you ("the client") confirm you are the owner of the vehicle or authorised to act on the owner's behalf, and that you accept these terms and the liability waiver below.
2. Vehicle Condition & Pre-Existing Damage
All vehicles are inspected and photographed on arrival. This record forms the agreed condition report for your booking.
PND is not liable for pre-existing defects, including but not limited to: failing or previously repainted panels, thin or over-polished clear coat, stone chips, dents, rust, cracked or delaminating trim, aftermarket wraps or vinyl, worn seals, cracked glass, faded or brittle plastics, existing leaks, water ingress or electrical faults.
Paint correction removes a microscopic layer of clear coat. Where paint thickness readings are low, or where panels have been previously repainted or repaired, correction may be limited or declined. Some defects (deep scratches, etching through the clear coat, sanding marks from prior repairs) cannot be fully removed and improvement is not guaranteed to be total.
3. Liability Waiver
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the client releases PND from liability for damage that occurs despite the correct application of professional detailing practices, including: failure or lifting of pre-existing paint, filler or repair work; removal of paint or trim finishes that were already compromised; failure of aged or perished rubber, plastic, chrome or adhesive components; water ingress through faulty seals, drains or aftermarket fittings; faults in vehicle electronics or accessories not caused by our work; and marks revealed (rather than caused) by decontamination and polishing.
Personal items must be removed before drop-off. PND accepts no responsibility for cash, valuables, electronics, documents or personal property left in the vehicle.
PND is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of use, loss of income, towing, rental costs or missed appointments.
4. Insurance & Damage Caused By Us
PND holds public liability and vehicle-in-care insurance covering high-value vehicles while in our custody.
If damage is caused by our negligence during service, notify us in writing within 48 hours of collection with photographs. We will inspect the vehicle and, at our option, repair the damage, arrange repair by a qualified specialist of our choosing, or provide reasonable compensation. Our total liability is limited to the cost of rectifying the damage, and does not extend to unrelated repairs, upgrades or betterment.
Claims made after a vehicle has been driven, washed or worked on by a third party may not be accepted, as the cause can no longer be verified.
5. Coating Warranties
Ceramic coating durability (1, 3 and 5 year options) is warranted against loss of hydrophobic performance and gloss when the vehicle is maintained per our written aftercare guidance.
Warranties do not cover: automatic or brush car washes, harsh or high-alkaline chemicals, abrasive washing, accident or panel repair, road salt build-up left untreated, industrial fallout left untreated, stone chips, tree sap or bird etching left untreated, or work carried out by another detailer over our coating.
Warranty claims require proof of the recommended maintenance washes and are limited to re-application of the coating on the affected panels.
6. Bookings, Deposits & Cancellations
A deposit may be required to secure a booking date, particularly for correction and coating work. Deposits are deducted from the final invoice.
Please give at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel. Cancellations inside 24 hours, or vehicles not delivered on the booked day, may forfeit the deposit as studio time cannot be resold at short notice.
Quoted times are estimates. Additional contamination, defect severity or interior condition discovered on inspection may require extra time or cost — we will always confirm any change with you before proceeding.
7. Pricing, Payment & Storage
Prices shown are indicative starting prices in NZD and include GST unless stated otherwise. Final pricing depends on vehicle size, paint condition and selected options.
Payment is due in full on collection unless agreed in writing. Vehicles are released only once payment has cleared.
Vehicles left more than 3 days after completion without prior arrangement may incur a storage fee.
8. Media & Privacy
We photograph and film vehicles before, during and after work for quality records and marketing. Registration plates are obscured where reasonably possible. Tell us in writing if you do not want your vehicle featured and we will exclude it.
Contact details submitted through our forms are used solely to quote and manage your booking. We do not sell your information.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply.
